MARKHAM, Ontario (May 8, 2024) – Landscape Architect Dennis Taves, OALA, GRP, has joined GEI Consultants. With a more than 40-year career in landscape architecture consultancy, Dennis specializes in streetscape, natural playground, and stormwater management landscape design. Dennis brings new service offerings to GEI in Canada with his experience in trail design, green infrastructure, and waterfront design.

“Dennis’ proficiency in planning, designing, stakeholder consultation, and contract administration over a wide variety of services expands our capabilities,” says Heather Whitehouse, Senior Ecologist at GEI. “Dennis excels in balancing stakeholder needs throughout the project life cycle, while remaining focused on the vision to connect people responsibly with nature.”

Dennis has worked extensively in municipalities across Ontario on urban development and redevelopment design. He provides the full suite of landscape architecture services, from conceptual to detailed design, tender and procurement, contract administration, project closeout, and staff mentoring and management.

“I am impressed with the GEI team’s dedication and the work its teams perform to enhance environmental resiliency while connecting people with nature,” says Dennis. “I hope to provide leadership in landscape architecture by mentoring landscape designers as well as restoration ecologists, while continuing to grow myself both personally and professionally.”

Dennis holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph and Simon Fraser University. He is a full member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects and a Green Roof Professional (GRP).
