Alex is a Registered Professional Forester (R.P.F.), an ISA Certified Arborist and Qualified Tree Risk Assessor with over 12 years of experience in the arboriculture, forestry, and environmental industries. Alex has a broad range of technical and scientific experience in forestry gained throughout his career including tree planting, climbing, trimming and removal, as well as tree inventory and impact analyses, project monitoring and preparing/reviewing technical and scientific reports.

As a senior arborist, Alex is responsible for coordinating and supporting GEI’s arborist team with tree inventories and tree impact analyses for engineering (transportation, civil and utility) and development projects. Furthermore, Alex collaborates with staff to prepare and peer review arborist reports and tree preservation plans for a range of clients, in both the private and public sectors. He is also responsible for scoping and formulating project plans for the arboricultural/forestry components of project pursuits.

Alex’s previous position as Acting Lead Arborist allowed for growth in his skills in providing senior guidance and leadership to an expanding team, as well as client-facing project management duties and growing business development opportunities since achieving his R.P.F. designation. Alex is a senior arborist at GEI providing leadership and mentorship to a growing arborist team within the Ecology division, as well as guidance and novel solutions to clients looking to better understand tree policies and protections for their projects.
