Full deep foundation design that depends on prefabricated piles and precast concrete, designed to be installed with no wait time for cast in place.

GEI Consultants has been retained by VCT Group to design deep foundation capable of supporting Solar Carports. The design was based on the reactions loading to determine the highest standard loading case and the helical pile design was in part based on the torque between helix and soil. The design of the helical pile system was based on diameter and depth of the pile to resist compression/tension and lateral loads. The helical piles were spaced based on the most economic and effective layout while taking into consideration for both lateral deflection and settlement.

As per the Ontario Building Code 2012, field review site visits were completed by GEI to inspect the structural aspects of the design. GEI undertook field review site visits during the deep foundation to confirm sizing and depths are per intent of the working drawings. Field review site visit reports (summarizing the general construction progress, deficiencies, and remedial action required, as well as a photographic record of the works completed to date), were provided as part of our site visits.
