Geoscientist Kim Pickett joins GEI Canada

Experienced project manager delivers both technical and project management

Barrie, Ontario (June 13, 2024) – Kim Pickett, C.E.T., LET, has joined GEI Consultants as a Project Geoscientist. Kim has 23 years of expertise in environmental and hydrogeological projects in both the public and private sectors, including environmental site assessments, designated substance surveys, landfill related studies, and hydrogeological assessments.

“Kim brings a valuable set of skills that align seamlessly with our areas of expertise. She has a wealth of knowledge in our core services and will be able to pick up projects and move them forward quickly and efficiently,” says Matthew Nelson, Senior Project Manager and Environmental Practice Lead at GEI. “Kim’s skills will help us be better equipped than ever to exceed our clients’ expectations, delivering solutions with ease and excellence.”

Kim brings a balance of theoretical knowledge and practical on-site experience. Along with her technical abilities, Kim is well versed in project management, proposal preparation, and building relationships with clients. In addition, thanks to holding various roles within municipal settings, she has significant experience with public consultation, public meetings, and liaising with stakeholders on various environmental and hydrogeological projects.

“I believe GEI is a great fit to showcase my skills,” says Kim. “I grew up in the Georgian Bay area, and I am excited to be able to give back by working in offices that are local to where I call home.”

Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Geo Science from McMaster University. She is also an adjunct professor in Environmental and Civil Engineering at Mohawk College and Seneca Polytechnic. She is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.
